Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier
By utilizing two of Delta Dental’s national dental networks, Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier (the biggest dental network in the nation), members of this plan benefit from unparalleled access and significant savings. There are two degrees of claim savings in this plan. Members have the best flexibility by selecting an orthodontist from Delta Dental Premier network and have the greatest value by selecting an orthodontist from Delta Dental PPO network.
Delta Dental PPO Individual – Premium Plan
Delta Dental PPO Premium plan offers the broadest coverage. It covers more procedures, has lower out-of-pocket costs and covers orthodontics for both adults and children. This plan has a $50 annual deductible, which is the amount you pay for each person per year before your plan starts making payments for your orthodontic services. It has a $2,000 annual maximum which is the total amount for every person your plan will pay toward the cost of orthodontic care per year.

With Delta Dental PPO premium plan, one set of post-treatment retainers (for orthodontic purposes) is typically covered for the course of a lifetime. Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier and Delta Dental PPO Premium offers an estimated 50% coverage for lingual braces. The waiting period is 6 months while the maximum lifetime benefit is $1,500. When visiting a PPO orthodontist, you will receive the $1500 calendar year maximum. Source
Is X-Rays covered by Delta Dental?
Yes, both Delta Dental PPO Premium plan and Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier give an estimate of 100% coverage for diagnostic services like bitewing x-rays and full mouth x-rays with no waiting period. Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier provides coverage for bitewing x-rays twice in a calendar year for children under the age of 18 and once in 5 years for full mouth x-rays.
Does Delta Dental cover Braces?
Braces for children and adults are estimated to be 50% covered by both Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier and Delta Dental PPO Premium plans. Yes, about an estimated 50% of the total cost of your Invisalign treatment will be covered by Delta Dental PPO Premium plan and Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier. Typically, Invisalign is considered under Orthodontia. Make sure to check the fine print in your insurance policy to make sure that orthodontic treatments like Invisalign are covered. Additionally, keep an eye out for restrictions and exclusions. There may be a clause limiting orthodontic benefits only for those who are 19 years of age or younger. All insured members who are older than 19 will not be eligible for the orthodontic benefit, including reimbursement for Invisalign treatment, due to this specific limitation.
