Delta Dental has the following Pediatric dental coverage plans available: Delta dental PPO Individual basic plan, Delta dental PPO Individual premium plan, and Delta dental PPO plus premier.
Delta Dental coverage plans for Pediatric Dentistry
You can save more money and have options as well as flexibility with a Delta Dental PPO plan. Additionally, you can be sure that your child or dependent will receive high-quality pediatric dental care because all children dentists in the network have credentials proving they meet or exceed Delta Dental’s requirements.
Delta Dental PPO Individual – Basic Plan
Your child or dependent gets an estimated 100% or full coverage for essential preventive pediatric dental care. Coverage for tooth fillings and simple extractions begins after 6 months.
Delta Dental PPO Individual – Premium Plan
Your child or dependent gets immediate full coverage for essential preventive pediatric dental services and lower out-of-pocket costs. The coverage for dental fillings and root canals is available after 6 months.
Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier
Your child or dependent gets more advantages with Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier because it combines the Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier networks. Your child or dependent still benefits from the pediatric dentist’s contracted fee with this plan even if your Delta Dental Premier pediatric dentist is not a part of the PPO network.

Delta Dental covers Retainers after Braces for kids?
With Delta Dental PPO premium plan, one set of post-treatment retainers for kids is typically covered for the course of a lifetime. Keep in mind that the general information given here may not apply to your child’s (as a dependent) benefits, limitations, maximums, waiting periods, and deductibles. Does Delta Dental cover X-Rays for Children?
Yes, Delta Dental PPO Individual Basic plan, Delta Dental PPO Premium, and Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier give an estimate of 100% or full coverage for diagnostic services like bitewing x-rays and full mouth x-rays with no waiting period. Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier provides coverage for bitewing x-rays twice in a calendar year for children under the age of 18 and once in 5 years for full mouth x-rays. Source
Does Delta Dental cover Cleaning and Tooth Fillings for Children?
Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier, Delta Dental PPO Individual Basic plan, and Delta Dental PPO Premium offer an estimate of 100% teeth cleaning coverage for children twice in a calendar year and with no waiting period. Basic dental services, such as amalgam and synthetic fillings for kids, are estimated to be 80% covered by Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier and Delta Dental PPO Premium with a 6 month waiting period. Delta Dental PPO Individual Basic plan, on the other hand, covers an estimated 50% of dental fillings for children.
Are Frenectomy, Tongue Tie and Lip Tie covered by Delta Dental?
Delta Dental may cover part of frenectomy, lip tie surgery or tongue tie procedure for your child if you have a PPO plan depending on your specific plan and coverage. Please give us a call to find out what might be covered for your kid’s specific situation.
