Understanding Invisalign Costs in Erie, Colorado
Are you considering Invisalign treatment in Erie, Colorado? Understanding the investment required for your new smile is an important part of your decision-making process. At Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we believe in complete transparency about treatment costs and options available to help make your dream smile affordable.
Invisalign clear aligners have revolutionized orthodontic treatment by offering a nearly invisible alternative to traditional braces. Dr. T.C. Hardy, our board-certified orthodontist, specializes in Invisalign treatments for both teens and adults, providing personalized care to address your unique dental needs.
The journey to a straighter smile involves understanding not just the total cost, but also what factors influence pricing, payment options, and how to maximize insurance benefits. Let’s explore everything you need to know about Invisalign costs in Erie, Colorado.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost in Erie?
Comprehensive Breakdown of Invisalign Pricing
The cost of Invisalign treatment in Erie typically ranges between $4,000 and $7,000, which is often comparable to or less expensive than traditional braces. At Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, our payment plans start at just $89 per month, making this advanced treatment accessible to more patients.
Several factors influence the final cost of your Invisalign treatment. The complexity of your case is the primary determinant – more severe alignment issues or bite corrections require longer treatment periods and more aligners. Additionally, the experience and expertise of your provider play a significant role in both treatment success and pricing.
Location also impacts cost – Erie, Colorado’s treatment costs reflect the regional cost of living and practice expenses. While some practices separate consultation fees and x-ray costs (typically $100-$200 and $25-$250 respectively), we’re proud to offer free consultations and x-rays, along with including retainers (valued at $1,000-$2,000) in our treatment fees.
Insurance Coverage and Out-of-Pocket Expenses
Without insurance, Invisalign costs in Erie range from $3,500 to $8,000. However, many dental insurance plans provide coverage for orthodontic treatments, potentially covering up to $1,500 of your Invisalign treatment.
Our dedicated benefits coordinator can help review your specific insurance plan to maximize your coverage. We understand insurance terminology can be confusing, which is why we offer complimentary benefits checks and handle insurance paperwork on your behalf, ensuring you receive all eligible benefits.
Each insurance plan has different coverage limitations and requirements. Some may cover Invisalign the same as traditional braces, while others might have age restrictions or lifetime orthodontic maximums. We’ll help you navigate these complexities and find the most cost-effective approach for your treatment.
Factors That Affect Your Total Invisalign Investment
The number of aligners required directly affects your treatment cost. Unlike traditional braces that use a single set of brackets adjusted periodically, Invisalign treatment utilizes multiple custom-made aligner trays that you’ll change approximately every two weeks.
Treatment complexity varies significantly between patients. Minor alignment corrections might require as few as 12-20 aligners and 6 months of treatment, while more complex cases might need 30+ aligners and 12-18 months of treatment. This variation in treatment length and number of aligners contributes to the range in pricing.
Treatment costs at Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics include all necessary follow-up appointments, refinements if needed, and retainers to maintain your results after treatment completion. This comprehensive approach ensures there are no surprise costs during your treatment journey.
Specialized Invisalign Treatment Options and Costs
Invisalign Express: A More Affordable Option
For patients with minor spacing or crowding issues, Invisalign Express offers a faster and more affordable alternative. This specialized treatment typically costs between $1,500 and $4,000, averaging around $2,500 in the Erie area.
Invisalign Express is designed for cases requiring minimal correction, typically involving 10 or fewer aligner stages. Treatment duration is significantly shorter, often completed in just 3-6 months compared to the 12-18 months for standard Invisalign treatment.
While more affordable, Invisalign Express isn’t suitable for everyone. During your consultation, Dr. Hardy will assess whether your specific alignment issues can be effectively addressed with this abbreviated treatment approach or if standard Invisalign would be more appropriate for your dental needs.
Invisalign for Teens: Special Considerations
Invisalign Teen is specifically designed with features that address the unique needs of adolescent patients. The cost is comparable to standard Invisalign but includes special features like compliance indicators and replacement aligners.
Teenagers have different treatment considerations than adults, including accommodation for erupting teeth and growth changes. Invisalign Teen provides special “eruption tabs” that hold space for teeth that haven’t fully emerged and includes up to six replacement aligners at no additional cost.
Many parents appreciate that the total cost of Invisalign Teen is predictable from the start, with no unexpected expenses for lost or damaged aligners. This predictability makes budgeting for orthodontic treatment easier for families in Erie.
Invisalign Aftercare and Retainer Costs
After completing your Invisalign treatment, retainers are essential to maintain your newly aligned smile. At Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, retainers are included in your treatment cost, saving you $100-$500 per retainer compared to practices that charge separately.
Initially, retainers need to be worn full-time, gradually transitioning to nighttime wear. This regimen helps prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions, protecting your investment in orthodontic treatment.
Most patients will need replacement retainers every few years due to normal wear and tear. We offer affordable replacement options and retainer protection plans to ensure your beautiful smile remains perfect for years to come.
Is Invisalign Worth the Investment?
Health Benefits Beyond Aesthetics
While the cosmetic improvement of straight teeth is impressive, Invisalign offers significant health benefits that make it a worthwhile investment. Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean, reducing your risk of cavities, gum disease, and eventual tooth loss.
Correcting bite issues can also alleviate jaw pain, headaches, and abnormal tooth wear. Many patients report reduced TMJ symptoms and improved chewing function after completing their Invisalign treatment with Dr. Hardy.
Investing in Invisalign now can help you avoid more expensive dental procedures later. The preventive benefits of proper alignment often save patients thousands in restorative dental care over their lifetime.
Lifestyle Advantages of Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces
Invisalign’s removable nature provides significant lifestyle benefits over traditional braces. You can enjoy all your favorite foods without restrictions – simply remove your aligners during meals and snacks, then clean your teeth before reinserting them.
Oral hygiene is substantially easier with Invisalign. Rather than navigating brackets and wires with special brushes and flossers, you can maintain your regular brushing and flossing routine, reducing the risk of decay during treatment.
The virtually invisible appearance of Invisalign aligners is particularly valuable for professionals and adults who prefer a discreet orthodontic option. Many patients report improved confidence during treatment compared to traditional braces.
Long-Term Value of Invisalign Treatment
Investing in Invisalign provides value beyond the immediate aesthetic improvements. The psychological benefits of increased confidence and self-esteem often translate to social and professional advantages that continue long after treatment ends.
Well-aligned teeth are less prone to trauma and wear, potentially extending the lifespan of your natural teeth. This long-term dental health benefit represents significant value when considering lifetime dental care costs.
Our patients consistently rate their Invisalign treatment as one of their best investments, citing improved quality of life, reduced dental problems, and the confidence that comes with a beautiful smile as returns that far exceed the initial cost.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign in Erie
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
The duration of Invisalign treatment varies based on the complexity of your case. Minor corrections may take as little as 6 months, while more comprehensive treatments typically range from 12-18 months. At Hardy Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, Dr. Hardy will provide a personalized estimate during your initial consultation.
Each case progresses differently, but most patients begin seeing noticeable improvements within the first few months of treatment. The key to staying on schedule is wearing your aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours daily and changing to new aligners as prescribed.
For patients with time constraints, we offer accelerated treatment options that may reduce treatment time by up to 50%. During your consultation, Dr. Hardy can discuss whether you’re a candidate for these specialized approaches.
Is Invisalign painful?
Invisalign is generally considered less painful than traditional braces. While you may experience some discomfort or pressure when starting a new aligner, this typically subsides within a few days as your teeth adjust.
The smooth plastic material of Invisalign aligners eliminates the irritation to cheeks and lips often experienced with metal brackets and wires. This results in a more comfortable overall treatment experience.
Any discomfort can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. As your treatment progresses, you’ll likely find that new aligners cause less discomfort as your teeth become more accustomed to moving.
Is Invisalign effective for all orthodontic issues?
Invisalign technology has advanced significantly and can now address most orthodontic issues, including crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. However, extremely complex cases may still benefit from traditional orthodontic approaches.
During your consultation, Dr. Hardy will evaluate your specific needs and determine if Invisalign is the right solution. In some cases, a combination of treatment methods might be recommended for optimal results.
For teenagers with unique orthodontic needs, Invisalign Teen offers special features designed to accommodate growing mouths and erupting teeth, making it effective for adolescent treatment in most cases.
How do I clean my Invisalign aligners?
Proper cleaning is essential for maintaining clear, odor-free aligners. We recommend rinsing your aligners every time you remove them and brushing them gently with a soft toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap at least once daily.
Avoid using hot water on your aligners, as this can warp the plastic. Also, toothpaste can be abrasive and create micro-scratches that make aligners more visible and prone to bacteria buildup.
Invisalign offers specialized cleaning crystals, or you can use denture cleaning solutions as alternatives. Keeping your aligners clean not only maintains their clarity but also protects your dental health during treatment.
What happens after Invisalign treatment is complete?
After completing your Invisalign treatment, you’ll need to wear retainers to maintain your results. Initially, retainers are worn full-time, gradually transitioning to nighttime wear as directed by Dr. Hardy.
Regular check-ups following treatment completion allow Dr. Hardy to monitor your results and make any necessary adjustments to your retention plan. These appointments are crucial for ensuring long-term success.
Some patients may benefit from fixed retainers—thin wires bonded behind the teeth—in addition to removable retainers. Dr. Hardy will recommend the best retention strategy based on your specific treatment and risk factors for relapse.

The Town of Erie is a Statutory Town located in Weld and Boulder counties, Colorado, United States. Erie is approximately 35 minutes from Denver International Airport, 25 minutes from Denver, and 20 minutes from Boulder. Erie was unique among local coal mining towns because the local coal miners actually owned land or houses in town, instead of setting up temporary camps.
Erie was one of the only “wet” towns in the area and by 1895, boasted eleven saloons on Briggs Street. This resulted in the need for a jail, constructed in 1876, and a constable. The earliest known constable in Erie was B.C. “Bud” Pitchford. Erie was hit by major floods in 1890, 1921, and 1972. The floods devastated the town, and a dike was built around nearby Coal Creek after the 1972 flood. Erie was also hard-hit by the Panic of 1893 and the Great Depression, the latter of which led to a decline in coal output. Demand for coal dropped after World War II, and most of the mines in the Erie area were closed by 1960, with the Eagle Mine closing in 1978.
Arts and Culture
There is an active group of artists in Erie; the Arts Coalition of Erie represents about 70 artists or approximately 60% of the artists in town. There are good venues for art at the Erie Community Center and High Plains Library, and shows change about every two months.
The Art Center of Erie at 625 Pierce Street in Old Town Erie is open for visual and performing arts programs and is operated by the Arts Coalition of Erie. Classes and events are held year-round at the site (an old children’s library owned by the Town of Erie) leased by the Arts Coalition of Erie. (Source: Wikipedia)
